Gymnastics at Nairnville

Like last year, every Thursday we go down to Nairnville Park and play sport. This term we have been doing gymnastics. We learnt routines on the beam and air track. Before we begin a lesson, we have a warm up game and then are split into three groups. Each group starts at one of the three circuits set up by our instructors. When we hear a buzzing sound we rotate to a new instructor/circuit and continue until each group has had three turns.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of gymnastics, so when I heard we were doing this sport I wasn't over the moon. Even if I didn't quite enjoy this activity, I still learnt many skills and techniques. The most challenging activity would have to be the high beam. The high beam is very wobbly, so it's hard to keep balance. The area in which I improved the most would have to be the forward and backward rolls.

Overall, I think I learnt many skills throughout gymnastics and even if this sport isn't for me, it's always good to just have a go!
