My painting was based on a picture of a bird headed God. I enjoyed blending colors the most and found it difficult getting my brush strokes thin. Overall, I was proud of the end result and would love to do more paintings of Egyptian Gods in the future!

Ancient Egypt
Over the past few weeks, we have been learning about Ancient Egypt. I learned many different things in this topic including:
-Afterlife- process of mummification.
-The pyramids of Giza- made for kings Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure.
-The first pharaoh- theories about who was the first pharaoh
-Deir-el -Medina
-Egyptian Houses
I learned so much about Egypt, not just what is written above. Ancient Egypt is an extremely fascinating topic and I think many people will enjoy learning about it!

Gymnastics at Nairnville
Like last year, every Thursday we go down to Nairnville Park and play sport. This term we have been doing gymnastics. We learnt routines on the beam and air track. Before we begin a lesson, we have a warm up game and then are split into three groups. Each group starts at one of the three circuits set up by our instructors. When we hear a buzzing sound we rotate to a new instructor/circuit and continue until each group has had three turns.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of gymnastics, so when I heard we were doing this sport I wasn't over the moon. Even if I didn't quite enjoy this activity, I still learnt many skills and techniques. The most challenging activity would have to be the high beam. The high beam is very wobbly, so it's hard to keep balance. The area in which I improved the most would have to be the forward and backward rolls.
Overall, I think I learnt many skills throughout gymnastics and even if this sport isn't for me, it's always good to just have a go!

Learning about Ancient Egypt
Over the past few weeks, we have been learning about Ancient Egypt. I learnt a lot about this topic and particularly enjoyed The Afterlife. The process of Mummification ( a procedure before the body is sent to the Afterlife) was both gruesome and interesting. Since we began this topic I have become very fond of The Pyramids of Giza and would love to see them one day. Also arguments and debates between Egyptologists were intriguing. Ancient Egypt is a fascinating topic and I can't wait to learn more about it!
